So, figure this one out...
Sometimes I get curious about other Nuzums. There are thousands of them around, probably tens or hundreds of thousands of them--yet it is still an unusual enough name that I feel some kind of kinship with just about anyone who shares that name.
So I occasionally Google "Nuzum" just to see what comes up. It is always interesting--an experience I'm sure the Smiths and Fitzgeralds of the world can't enjoy. A lot of the early results are about me, but through these searches I've discovered distant cousins who are semi-famous Christian musicians (who just happens to be another Eric Nuzum), a woman who writes novels involving dogs, Lucy Nuzum the photographer, and Robert the lawyer. I love reading about them.
In one of these recent searches, I stumbled across a reference in Urban Dictionary--the definition of a "Nuzum."
To quote:
"NuzumA person who has extremely little value in the eyes of others
(including his/her family). Someone with next to no redeeming qualities
or personality traits. They would have no hobbies of interest to
anyone, nor any sense of humor that coincides with another human being."
Oh, it goes on from there. You can see it here.
The person that contributed the definition in 2007 only authored this one, so it kind of stands out as a practical joke.
But now I want to know who this Nuzum was, the one that inspired this. Was it someone's Chemistry teacher? A friend with a good sense of humor? The neighborhood bully?
Who could inspire this?
I think I have found my new favorite Nuzum.
